From the Source to Your Door
Responsible sourcing is at the heart of PahadiMittise. Depending on the product, our supply chain may involve farmers, producer groups, local suppliers, processors, aggregators, or other partners. We aim to understand:
● Where products come from
● Who produces them
● How they are handled
● How they are processed
● How they are packaged
● How they reach customers
Our sourcing approach can differ from one product to another because every product has its own supply chain. We believe it is better to communicate those differences honestly than to make broad claims about every product.
Quality & Authenticity
Trust Begins With the Product
Buying natural and regional products online can create questions.
Is the product genuine?
Where did it come from?
How was it handled?
Is the information accurate?
We understand those concerns. Our approach to quality and authenticity focuses on responsible sourcing, supplier relationships, product information, appropriate handling, packaging, and continuous evaluation. Natural products can also have characteristics that vary from batch to batch. Colour, texture, aroma, size, and taste may change depending on season, harvest, geography, and other natural factors. We want customers to understand these characteristics rather than treating natural variation as something to hide.
Meet the People Behind the Products
The Story Doesn't End With the Product
When you discover a Himalayan product, there is usually more to the story than what appears on the package. There may be:
A farmer who grew it.
A family that has used it for generations.
A producer who prepared it.
A community that knows its traditional use.
A region that shaped its character.
We want to make those connections more visible. Through farmer profiles, regional stories, ingredient information, and our Himalayan Journal, we aim to introduce customers to the people and places behind the products.
Seasonal Products
Nature does not operate according to a fixed inventory calendar. Some agricultural products are seasonal. Availability, appearance, taste, aroma, and other characteristics can naturally change depending on the harvest and environmental conditions. This is one reason we believe customers should appreciate natural variation rather than expecting every batch to look identical. Where seasonal availability affects a product, we aim to communicate it clearly.
Responsible Sourcing
Responsible sourcing means understanding where products come from and maintaining appropriate relationships throughout the supply chain.
Our sourcing approach aims to consider:
● Product origin
● Supplier reliability
● Product quality
● Seasonal availability
● Traceability where available
● Appropriate handling
● Packaging
● Customer expectations
We continue to improve our processes as the business grows.
Building Long-Term Relationships
We are interested in long-term relationships rather than one-time transactions. A strong relationship with farmers and sourcing partners can help improve communication, product consistency, planning, and mutual understanding. It also gives us an opportunity to learn more about the products we offer. The more we understand the source, the better we can explain the product to customers.
The Future of Himalayan Agriculture
Mountain agriculture faces challenges that can include changing weather patterns, migration, limited market access, transportation difficulties, and changing consumer preferences. At the same time, there are opportunities. Digital commerce can help introduce regional products to new customers. Better storytelling can increase awareness. Responsible sourcing can create stronger connections between producers and markets. And customers who understand where their products come from can make more informed choices. PahadiMittise wants to be part of this positive connection.
